Optimus Pad, Stud LG iPad Challenger

Satu lagi penantang Apple iPad. Kali ini datang dari vendor Korea Selatan, LG. Media di luar negeri mendapat bocoran bahwa LG bakal menamakan tablet jagoannya itu sebagai Optimus Pad.

Terdengar familiar? Memang nama Optimus sudah digunakan LG sebelumnya untuk menyebut smartphone Android produksinya. Berarti LG mengikuti jejak Samsung. Seperti diketahui, Samsung menamakan tabletnya dengan Galaxy Tab, sama dengan smartphone andalannya yang juga disebut Galaxy.

Bedanya, jika Samsung Galaxy Tab sudah ketahuan beberapa fiturnya dan akan diluncurkan segera di Berlin, Jerman, LG Optimus Pad masih malu-malu menampakkan diri. Selain namanya, belum ada penjelasan seperti apa spesifikasinya. Namun dari gambarnya, terlihat ukuran Optimus Pad sama dengan Galaxy Tab.

Dalam bocorannya, seperti dikutip detikINET dari PocketLink, Rabu (9/9/2010), LG menjanjikan Optimus Pad bakal lebih langsing dan lebih ringan daripada para kompetitor. Performanya juga diklaim lebih superior.

Konon, tablet besutan LG ini ditenagai prosesor Tegra2. Namun jelas semua klaim itu perlu pembuktian dengan keterangan resmi seperti apa sejatinya fitur Optimus Pad.

Di sisi lain, Samsung Galaxy Tab digadang-gadang bakal menggoyang keperkasaan iPad. Gadget yang akan diumumkan di Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) di Jerman pada awal September ini memang memiliki beberapa kelebihan dibanding iPad, misalnya ketersediaan Flash dan kamera 3,2 megapiksel.
